Trends in the industry: Incident Based Pipeline Training

Paradigm has received multiple requests from pipeline operators and first responders to train based upon the response actions to pipeline incidents. We have always given serious consideration to feedback from program attendees.

As a result, in 2020 certain cities will feature real-life case studies of pipeline releases:

  • Case studies within the jurisdiction of first responders attending the meeting.
  • Response scenarios based on incident reports provided by local officials.

For the Coordinated Response Exercise®, Paradigm will enhance this training format by detailing an actual incident and detailing the response.Pipeline Markers

  • Actual 911 call information from the event will be used to set up the scenario.
  • The training team will work through the actual response measures taken by emergency personnel and pipeline operators, to heighten this situational training.
  • Attendees will study the coordination between emergency officials and pipeline operators.

Paradigm’s real-life case studies identify challenges faced regarding communication between operators and emergency responders. Featuring first-hand accounts from those involved with past incidents, scenarios based on after-action reports emphasizes the cooperation and pre-planning needed by all entities who may respond to a pipeline emergency.
